Sport Review: Australian Rugby

I am a international student who next year will be studying in Australia, and i am very interested about the sport and everything in Australia. However, today I will only talk about the Australian rugby which is the most popular sport in Australia. Maybe one day in the future I can play rugby with my Australian friends, which I look forward to my college life.

Australian rugby team is considered the best team in the world, in every season they are in the top three teams in the world, maybe that is why all Australian people like rugby more than other kinds of sports. Rugby is very similar to American football but in rugby people can't wear any protection so we can know that rugby is easier to get hurt. Australian schools made a rule that student can't play rugby in any school, so the school PE teachers made two new kinds of rugby to make sure that no student will get hurt in PE class. The first one is called flag rugby, where the players need to stick some flag on your back and if the other players take your flag off, then you need to stop. The other one is called touch rugby, if other people touch you, then you need to stop. However, this one I have only see one or two teachers use. Both of these ways can stop students from getting hurt from playing this sport. I think this way they can have the experience of rugby but they won't got hurt.

The Australian rugby team is very famous that almost all the people who lived in Australia and all the people who watch rugby know about them. Although, they are not the best rugby team in the world but I still love that team because of how they cooperate with each other, that is why I really like the Australia rugby team, and I hope one day I can go and watch them in real life.

Next year I will go study in Australia so I think knowing there sport is really important to understand. Because knowing rugby can help me fit in with their culture and make some more friends and I can play rugby in the future which I think is really cool.
